9:35am - Presentation 2: The Customer Support Experience: An IoT Enigma - Dan Croft of Mission Critical IoT

The IoT industry has been the subject of incredible hype over the past ten years.  Forecasts of trillions of deployed sensors have both helped and hurt the development of the IoT ecosystem.  The investment funding tap opens with the hype, and then tightens when some of the exuberant expectations aren’t immediately realized.  This session will highlight and discuss that the number of IoT proof-of-concepts, and trials is truly outstanding; however for the IoT to meet and exceed expectations it will absolutely require a significant acceleration of migrations from trials to production deployments. In order for this phenomenon to occur, clients must see a greater focus on, and improvements in the overall IoT customer experience.  This session will explore the human elements required for a great IoT experience.

    10:40am - Networking Break

11:00am -  Panel Discussion - Upskilling in the IoT World

There is a disconnect in tech layoffs and hiring because many companies are cutting jobs due to the impact of COVID-19 on their businesses, while other companies are continuing to hire for certain positions. This discrepancy can be attributed to the fact that some organizations are adjusting their business models to fit the new landscape, or pivoting to new services or products that may require additional personnel, while others are continuing with a business model that is no longer viable in today’s market.

This panel will try to answer what is going on in the Marketplace; The disparity between layoffs and the gap in hiring; what success looks like in a recruiting partnership; Leveraging AI and RPA in your recruiting process; and some pros and cons in working with outside recruiters.

    Panelists:

Amber Malone - VP, Global Engineering - Controls & Automation, Generac

Steve DeCabooter - Director, Global Software Platforms, Gilson

Susan Wagner - Senior Business Development Manager, INSPYR solutions

    Moderator - TBA
